In our workshop we prepared a BMW R100 RT, built in 1983, with the well-known 1000 cc boxer engine and its original red and black paintwork for sale. This model is one of the most popular BMW Youngtimer touring motorcycles and is still highly sought after today. The assignment included a complete service, technical overhaul and preparation for consignment sale.

Analysis / Initial Condition

The BMW arrived in well-kept condition, but for safe operation and long-term value retention several works were necessary. Typical weak points such as worn tires, carburetor deposits and a defective hall sensor required professional repair. The goal was not only to make the bike roadworthy but to bring it up to the standard that buyers expect from a classic BMW tourer.

Work / Actions Taken

For the BMW R100 RT we carried out the following tasks:

• Replacement of the tires for safety and comfort
• Carburetor overhaul with subsequent synchronization
• Repair of the hall sensor for reliable ignition control
• Change of all operating fluids (engine oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid, etc.)
• Adjustment of valve clearance and ignition for optimal engine performance

These service works ensure that the boxer engine runs smoothly again, the motorcycle starts reliably and delivers the typical BMW touring experience.

Conclusion

After the complete overhaul, the BMW R100 RT from 1983 is once again in excellent condition. With its characterful 1000 cc boxer engine, original paintwork and solid engineering, it is a perfect example of how a Youngtimer motorcycle can be made fit for everyday use through professional service.
