BMW R80 RT (1993) – Complete Custom Bobber Conversion

In our workshop, we completely rebuilt a BMW R80 RT from 1993. The machine with Monolever swingarm was disassembled, redesigned, and rebuilt according to the customer’s wishes. All components were overhauled and harmonized visually. The goal was a modern bobber with classic charm, fully customizable and suitable for daily use.

Analysis / Initial Condition

The base was perfect: low mileage, running engine, no defects. Only signs of age were present, and the bike was ready to be technically and visually refreshed.

Work / Actions Taken
  • Complete disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and pre-assembly (Rolling Chassis)
  • Bobber concept development in close coordination with the customer
  • Procurement of replacement and wear parts, individual modifications implemented
  • Frame modifications: short tail (single-seater), shortened telescopic fork, new rear shock
  • Installation of cast wheels, handlebars, fenders, color concept for frame, engine, fork
  • New electronics: indicators, speedometer, regulator for modern batteries, onboard network with smartphone control
  • Customer-requested customization options integrated

The work combines classic appearance with modern technology, functional upgrades, and individual design.

Conclusion

The BMW R80 RT is a youngtimer for daily use, modernized and technically reliable. Visually altered yet instantly recognizable. A classic motorcycle with modern technology and individual character.
